Handling Operator Tasks
Information

NOTE:
The following operation is available only if you have appropriate user authorizations.
Do the appropriate procedure depending on how the operator task was set.
Handle a Task Without Revert Action
- The revert action was not set in the operator tasks template. This means that, when you save a new task or you edit an existing task, the revert setting cannot be edited in the Tasks tab and the following message is displayed:
No revert commands.
- In the Operator Tasks list, select and start the wanted task. See Starting Operator Tasks.
- The validation profile is checked. Depending on this profile, the appropriate data is required.
- The commands access authorizations are checked.
- If at least one command cannot be executed, the task will not start and its status remains
Idle.
- If all the commands can be executed, the task status becomes
Executing commands. In this status you can also terminate the commands execution (see Aborting Operator Tasks).
- When the task status is
Executing commandsand the commands are executed:
- If all the commands fail, the task status becomes
Failed.
- If at least one command fails, the task status becomes
Running with exception.
- If all the commands are executed successfully, the task status becomes
Running.
- If the task status is
Failed, you can only do one of the following:
- Close the task. See Closing Operator Tasks.
- Restart the task. See Starting Operator Tasks.
- If the task status is
Running(or
Running with exception) until the timer expires, you can only do one of the following:
- Modify the countdown timer.
- Close the task. See Closing Operator Tasks.
- When the countdown timer expires, the conditions are checked and an event is generated. In particular:
- If the conditions are met, the task status becomes
Ready to be closed.
- If the conditions are not met, the task status becomes
Expired.
- If the task status is
Ready to be closedor
Expired, you can only do one of the following:
- Manually satisfy the conditions by executing the commands from the Operation tab.
- Close the task. See Closing Operator Tasks.
- Modify the expiration time (if the task status is
Expired) with the task being restarted.
- When the task status is
Closed, you can only do one of the following:
- Delete the task. See Deleting Operator Tasks.
- Duplicate the task. See Duplicating Operator Tasks.
Handle a Task With Manual Revert Action
- The manual revert action was set in the operator tasks template. This means that, when you create a new task, the Manual revert option is selected by default in the Tasks tab.

- A check is done on the authorizations to execute the commands (both initial commands and the revert action).
- When the task status is
Executing commandsand the commands are executed:
- If all the commands fail, the task status becomes
Failed.
- If at least one command fails, the task status becomes
Running with exception.
- When all the commands are executed successfully, the task status becomes
- Execute the revert action before the countdown timer expires. See Doing a Revert Action.

- Execute the revert action. See Doing a Revert Action.
- When the task status is
Closed, you can only do one of the following:
- Delete the task. See Deleting Operator Tasks.
- Duplicate the task. See Duplicating Operator Tasks.
Handle a Task With Automatic Revert Action

- The automatic revert action was set in the operator tasks template. This means that, when you create a new task, the Automatic revert option is selected by default in the Tasks tab.

- In the Operator Tasks list, select and start the wanted task. See Starting Operator Tasks.
- A check is done on the authorization to execute the task with automatic revert. If you are not granted such authorization, a message box will inform you that the revert command can only be executed manually.
- The validation profile is checked. Depending on this profile, the appropriate data is required. If the validation profile is higher than Enabled (o Four Eyes), a message box informs you of the manual revert action.
- A check is done on the authorizations to execute the commands (both on the initial commands and on the revert action).
- If at least one command cannot be executed, the task will not start and its status remains
Idle.
- If all the commands can be executed, the task status becomes
Executing commands.
NOTE: In this status you can also terminate the commands execution (see Aborting Operator Tasks).
- When the task status is
Executing commandsand the commands are executed:
- If all the commands fail, the task status becomes
Failed.
- If at least one command fails, the task status becomes
Running with exception.
- When all the commands are executed successfully, the task status becomes
- When the countdown timer expires, the revert command is executed automatically.
- The task status becomes
Reverting Commands. In this status you can also terminate the commands execution (see Aborting Operator Tasks).
- When the conditions are verified or when the countdown timer expires, the task status becomes
Ready to be closedor
Expired. At this point, you can only do one of the following:
- Manually satisfy the conditions by executing the commands from the Operation tab.
- Close the task. See Closing Operator Tasks.
- Modify the expiration time with the task being restarted. (From Step 1 since another operator can do this operation.)
- Execute the revert action. See Doing a Revert Action.
- When the task status is
Closed, you can only do one of the following:
- Delete the task. See Deleting Operator Tasks.
- Duplicate the task. See Duplicating Operator Tasks.
NOTICE

Forcing Manual Revert
When the revert mode is automatic, a manual revert is forced in the following cases:
- The operator who started the task does not have the authorization to execute tasks that have the automatic revert.
- The operator who started the task has the authorizations for executing tasks with automatic revert but one or more task targets have a validation profile (higher than Enabled or Four Eyes) that requires a password (more than the operator’s comment).
