Setting Up New Operator Tasks
Scenario: You want to create and start a new operator task.

Prerequisites:
- System Browser is in Application View.
Steps:
1 – Add a New Operator Task from Template
- Select Applications > Operator Tasks.
- The list of all the operator tasks displays in the Tasks tab.
- Click Add and select the appropriate task template among the ones preconfigured in the system.
- The new operator task displays in the list. Its name consists in the name of the template followed by # and a sequential number (for example, myoperatortask#1).
2 – Edit the Operator Task
- (Optional) In the Task name field, modify the default text retrieved from the template with an appropriate unique name.
- (Optional) In the Description field, modify the default text retrieved from the template with an appropriate description.
- Next to End task, specify when a task is due in one of the following ways:
- Select At and set a specific date and time.
- Select In and set a specific time for the selected date.
- (Optional) Modify the Revert setting (revert action when the end task countdown timer expires).
- From System Browser, drag and drop the object of the task.
NOTE: You can only link objects expected for the selected task template. You cannot save if at least one object is linked to a task.
- Repeat the preceding step for all the objects you want to add to the current task.
NOTE: You can link the same object more than once if it belongs to different views. This is helpful with specific functions that must be applied only to certain views sublevels. You can also remove associated target objects by clicking
.
- Click Save.
- The relevant task status displays
Idle. In Target, the
Unknowncommand status and the
Unknownrevert action status (if any) displays.
